Each Dollhouse Quilt Kit contains a hand-designed miniature quilt top printed on 100% cotton, polyester batting, and a 100% cotton color-coordinated backing. There are no small pieces to sew together, since the complete quilt design is on one piece of fabric and the quilt can be put together in a few simple steps. Directions for making the Dollhouse Quilt include information on machine quilting and hand quilting. The finished Dollhouse Quilt is 7 by 7 inches and fits a single or double dollhouse bed in 1:12 scale.

The Basket pattern has been a favorite since 1850. There are manny variations of the basket including both pieced and appliquéd.

The baskets in this Dollhouse Quilt are dark green with red triangle "flowers" and the blocks are set on point. The sashing between the basket blocks matches the light green quilt borders and back.

Bear's Paw MiniQuilt ......
Depending on the historical name, the "paw" represents various animals or even hands. The Bear's Paw pattern is known by several different names and early examples appeared around 1850.

Each block in this Dollhouse Quilt has four red bear's paws radiating out from a red center on a light blue background. A darker blue forms the sashing around the blocks, the quilt back and borders.

Bow Tie MiniQuilt
The Bow Tie is found in the early 1890s. This quilt pattern is based on a four-patch block with a small square in the center made from two triangles, which forms the "knot" of each tie.

In the Dollhouse Quilt the dark blue border and backing frame the colorful ties in this easily recognizable pattern.

There are no documented Double Wedding Ring quilts before 1920. They were often made from the floral and geometric print fabrics of feed sacks.

Fan quilts began appearing around 1885. The arrangement of the fans and the colors used vary greatly in these historic quilts.

LeMoyne Star MiniQuilt
The LeMoyne Star pattern of the 1850s is said to be named for the LeMoyne brothers, who were sent by the king of France in the late 17th century to defend France's claim to the Louisiana territory. The pattern was also known as the Lemon Star.

The LeMoyne Star Dollhouse Quilt has red and blue stars on a white background. The sashing has red squares at the intersections.

This quilt pattern from around 1850 is also called Orange Peel. The name Rob Peter to Pay Paul is said to refer to the king of England demanding that St. Peter’s church sell some of its property to pay for repairs to St. Paul’s church.

In the Rob Peter to Pay Paul Dollhouse Quilt the red and white designs seem to "rob" parts of their designs from each other as they form both white circles and red circles. The border and backing are red.

The Rose of Sharon was often an engagement or wedding quilt beginning in the 1850s. The appliquéd flower is made of two or three circles and typically has a scalloped edge. The various combinations of leaves and flowers were usually made in pink, green and white.

In the Rose of Sharon #1 Dollhouse Quilt the flowers have three pink layers and each is surrounded by three flower buds. The dark and light greens in the leaves and stems blend with the light green borders and backing.

In 1910 Sunbonnet Sam first appeared as an appliquéd quilt pattern. It was a popular design for outline embroidery in the 1880s.

A popular appliquéd quilt pattern originating in the 1850s was the Tulip. The many variations in this pattern all have the characteristic pointed tulip petals with one, two or three layers of color.

In Tulip #1 Dollhouse Quilt, red and yellow tulips have three layers. The central motif is framed by smaller tulips in the corners. The stems and leaves are dark and light greens. The border and back are light green and contrast well with the white background of the top.
